Henry wasn’t the first dog Cynthia Bennett thought to adopt. When she and her boyfriend went to meet some puppies in 2014, Bennett originally had her eye on a golden retriever mix, and then she noticed Henry.
At only 14 weeks old he was already five times bigger than all the other puppies, and when Cynthia entered Henry’s pen, he just curled up into her lap, and that was when she knew he was the one.
“I think we only had him for three days when we took him on our first hike,” Bennett said, a few months later the couple decided to get another pet, like Henry, would be prepared to camp and hike.
The couple soon found Baloo, a Siamese kitten mix and Baloo immediately became best friends with Henry and it wasn’t long until Baloo started going on their first trips together. “I get a lot of questions about how we got him used to it. But he really loves it,” Bennett said.
