New Zealand has yet again taken steps to become a world leader in environmental protection.
In a move that is being hailed by many as a historic victory for the battle against climate change. The New Zealand government has declared that it will not permit any more offshore oil exploration. Meaning that within 30 years New Zealand will no longer have any oil exploration.
The new ban will only apply to new permits and won’t affect any existing permits, which some have decades left on their arrangements.
