- Taking place in front of APET Racing Dunedin, the woman was caught by one of two security cameras.
- After the woman finishes up, she’s seen getting back into a white Toyota van.
- The couple were approached and denied any knowledge of the incident.
In what most would call a disgraceful act, a tourist has been spotted relieving herself publicly in the street. The toilet habits of freedom campers has been the topic of much controversy and anger in recent years, but to our knowledge this is the first time such an action has been caught on camera.
APET Racing owner Nik Black says he is disgusted by the incident.
“I was just walking outside and happened to notice there was something in the gutter that didn’t look like it was left there by a dog,” Black said.
“I don’t expect to see this in town, not in an area like this. There’s a lot of traffic, a lot of businesses around here.”
“There’s a petrol station just across the road. They’re more than welcome to use that, it’s 24 hours a day.”
Public defecation is not condoned in New Zealand. Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to please report it to authorities immediately.
